I have already written a review but that was before our baby arrived. I wanted to write another because the reviews really helped me decide what nappies to get before I purchased.
Pekpi nappies are honestly beautiful to look at and scream good quality! But how do they actually function? After using these with my 12wk old since she was born I am so impressed with them so far. They do take some experimenting with fit but I found the newborn video on the website very helpful. I also have found that she only needs one insert per nappy. I used to use the tri fold as well as the hourglass and it made her nappy so heavy and bulky as she is so little. I also prefer to put the insert into the pocket as the fabric on the nappy shell is so soft on bubs skin.
I do find the inserts are tricky to dry if it’s not warm. Usually I put them outside in shade and finish them off in the dryer. Don’t put them in sun as they get a bit hard. Otherwise I put them in the dryer on a cold day and they come out great.
I am not using mine overnight but I honestly think I could start with the trifold insert added.
In terms of washing I have a baby care option on washing machine which is 2.5hr wash. I use Kin Kin detergent and the Tasmanian soap company tuff stuff stain remover (which is honestly a lifesaver). The nappies come out completely stain free after every wash even after the biggest poops!
If you are unsure about trying I’d 100% recommend these nappies. It’s especially good to support small business with such a great ethos. Their customer service is excellent.
