Pekpi is proudly Australia's first Reusable Cloth Nappy made from REPREVE® Our Ocean™ a premium performance fabric made from 100% Post-consumer Recycled Plastic Bottles destined for our oceans. Inspired by a minimal lifestyle, Pekpi's Cloth Nappies feature neutral tones and on-trend prints designed for mindful modern babes.
Well done on making the decision to switch to cloth! To find out exactly what you will need, we created this article. Our guides are a great place to start to read about the basics of using Cloth Nappies (how to fit and wash). Our journal is also regularly updated with tips and advice to help you on your way. We're confident you'll love them just as much as we do.
A staggering 3.75 million disposable nappies are used each day in Australia and New Zealand alone. Using Cloth Nappies halves your weekly rubbish, reduces your carbon footprint by 40%, and protects the world your baby will inherit. By purchasing Pekpi Cloth Nappies, Swim Nappies, and Accessories, you're also doing that little bit more for our planet with each product using 2-10 plastic bottles to produce. If you’d like to know more about what we’re doing to protect the environment, click here.
Absolutely! Our nappies are OSFM (one size fits most), suitable from newborn to toddler (approx 3.5kg to 16kg). We have also made a newborn fit tutorial here showing how to fit our nappies on even the smallest of babes.
If you are new to Cloth Nappies or wanting to get a feel for it, you may want to start slow by switching just a few nappies a day. For part-time use, we advise purchasing 6-10 Nappies so that you have enough for an efficient washing load.
For full-time day use only, 12-18 Cloth Nappies will be enough for 4-6 changes per day.
When you are confident to go full-time (day and night) with Reusable Nappies, we recommend building your stash up to 20-30 Cloth Nappies.
To find out the other Accessories and Equipment you will need, we created a list here.
We recommend washing your new nappies to remove any manufacturing residue before your first use. You do not need to soak your inserts; they will slowly build absorbency with each wash. You may notice small fibers making their way out of the edges of sewing; this is normal and will disappear after a few washes.

Please be mindful to use a nappy-safe barrier cream like Being Bootie Balm in our Accessories collection.
